Hardy could win. The Royal Rumble is one of the biggest shows of the year, almost always because of the show’s namesake match. However, there’s more than that on any given card and sometimes there’s a lot of great stuff supplementing the big match. That was the case back in 2008 when there was a huge WWE Championship match, which WWE is looking back at ten years later.

WWE has released the full version of Jeff Hardy challenging Randy Orton for the WWE Title at “Royal Rumble 2008”. This match was set up for several weeks with Hardy, a huge underdog, pinning Orton in a tag match and doing one major daredevil stunt after another. There was a question about who would win and that made for an intriguing match. Here’s the video:

Opinion: I remember being incredibly excited for this match as the build was outstanding. They did a great job of making you believe that Hardy could win, which was the start of an entire year long story of Hardy chasing the title. It worked like a charm and the fans completely bought the idea, which was one of the best of the year.

What did you think of this match? Should Hardy have won the title here? Let us know in the comments below.
