That’s how you rub salt in the wounds. Earlier this week, Charlotte was announced as the replacement for Becky Lynch in what might be the main event of WrestleMania 35. Fans weren’t happy about it (to put things mildly) as Lynch was suspended for sixty days. Lynch isn’t exactly the kind of person to take orders from anyone, but at the same time, that can brings consequences.
Suspensions aren’t so easily overcome. Check out what happened to Lynch as she came back, via WWE’s Instagram:
Lynch invaded a WWE live event on Saturday night in Alexandria, Louisiana as Charlotte was attacking SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka with a kendo stick. Lynch came out of the crowd but Charlotte took out her recently healed knee again, followed by several more attacks. The injury had just been pronounced better this week on Monday Night Raw, leading to Lynch being cleared to compete.
Opinion: You knew something was going to come from this story and it makes Charlotte even more of a villain to Lynch’s heroine. They’ve got something interesting there with the two of them on opposite sides of the spectrum and Ronda Rousey somewhere in the middle. They could have a heck of a match if the build is right, and so far that has certainly been the case.
What do you think happens next for Lynch? Will she leave WrestleMania 35 as champion? Let us know in the comments below.
