They’re heading south. Last month, as it does every January, WWE presented its annual Royal Rumble event. This is one of the biggest shows of the year as it presents sixty wrestlers in two matches with the winners going on to the main event of WrestleMania. It’s one of the most important nights of the year and now, we know what to expect from the next edition.

As announced on WWE.com, the 2020 Royal Rumble will take place in Houston, Texas on January 26, 2020 in Minute Maid Park, the home stadium of the Houston Astros. While not announced, it is expected that SmackDown Live on Friday, Takeover on Saturday and Monday Night Raw on Monday will be take place in the same city. This is the first time that Houston has hosted the event since 1989.

Things went well there last time. Check out one of the coolest moments in Royal Rumble history:

Opinion: These things can go almost anywhere and I can’t say I’m surprised at Houston getting another show. It’s one of the biggest cities in the country and at the moment they’re getting ready for Sunday’s Elimination Chamber. The Royal Rumble is one of the most important shows of the year and it should be nice to see how things go on the road to next year’s WrestleMania.
