Meet your new team. The Royal Rumble offers several different changes to the WWE structure and that includes bringing various new wrestlers up from NXT to the main roster. The matches can serve as a great introduction to someone new and get them off to a hot start. That seems to be the case with another NXT name who made a heck of an impression in the Royal Rumble.
The women’s Royal Rumble felt like a bit of a passing of the torch moment as Bianca Belair won the match, lasting from the #3 spot all the way until the end when she pulled off quite the impressive victory. That is the kind of thing that can change someone’s career trajectory in a hurry and Belair seems to be on the right path. She wasn’t the only person to get a big rub out of the match though and now we know someone else’s career future as well.
According to PWInsider.com, Rhea Ripley has officially been called up to the main roster following her appearance in the Royal Rumble. Ripley was the last person eliminated from the Royal Rumble after entering at #14 and lasting over thirty nine minutes with seven eliminations. It is not clear which show Ripley will wind up on, though she did not appear on this week’s Monday Night Raw.
Ripley can hang on the main roster. Check out the biggest moment of her career:
Opinion: I wouldn’t exactly call this a shock as Ripley has nothing left to do down in NXT and has already wrestled on some pretty big main roster shows. Ripley could be a heck of a star on the main roster but I’m almost scared to see what they are going to do with her. Should they use her in the right way though, they are going to have a very bright star on their hands in a hurry.
