Just in case there wasn’t enough going on already. On this week’s episode of “NXT”, Shinsuke Nakamura regained the NXT Title from Samoa Joe in Osaka, Japan. After the match was over, an announcement was made that the title would be on the line again next week. This time, Nakamura will be defending the title against Samoa Joe inside a steel cage in Melbourne, Australia. The cage match will air next week on “NXT”.

If that’s not enough, the winner of that will likely be defending against the winner of an upcoming tournament. Eight wrestlers will participate in four singles matches with the winners advancing to a four way match. The winner of that will challenge for the NXT Title at “Takeover: San Antonio” in January.

It’s rather unusual for NXT to have this many title matches in such rapid succession. There’s a good chance that these taped house show matches are designed to stretch out the TV tapings to fill in an extra week and if that means I have to watch more Nakamura vs. Samoa Joe then so be it. It’s also interesting to see a tournament for the #1 contendership but thankfully it’s not something you see so often in this promotion.
Do you think the title will change hands again in Australia? Who do you think wins the tournament? Let us know in the comments below.
