Your mileage may vary on this one. According to his official Facebook page, James Ellsworth is no longer taking independent bookings. While this isn’t for sure, this is a very strong sign that he has signed a WWE deal. Ellsworth has one more date remaining on the independent scene and then will be taking no more.

After appearing as a jobber to be destroyed by Braun Strowman on “Monday Night Raw” back on July 25, 2016, Ellsworth was brought back in to “Smackdown Live” as what appeared to be a joke. This led to a very surprising push for Ellsworth, who has managed to defeat Smackdown World Champion AJ Styles twice in a row.

I know Ellsworth doesn’t offer much on paper but there’s a charm to him as a guy who gets to live his dream. On top of that, any merchandise he moves for WWE is pure bonus money as you can’t imagine Ellsworth is making a fortune. He’s a guy living his dream and it’s a fun watching him out there, even if he’s just a goof.
