Sources through NBC Connecticut has confirmed that Linda McMahon–business manager of WWE and wife to Vince McMahon–is under consideration by president-elect Donald Trump’s transition team as a candidate for the position of Secretary of Commerce. Further, McMahon has commented that she would be “honored to serve” if called upon by the Trump administration.

Part of the team that turned WWE into the global giant that it currently is, McMahon would not be a bad fit for the cabinet position she is under consideration for. But something of note–and should always be remembered early in the transition period of the presidency–is that she is not the only name on the list under consideration.

Today Politico is reporting that McMahon is not even within the top two of the consideration list. Leading candidates currently are billionaire investor Wilbur Ross and former CEO of Nucor Corp–a steel manufacturer–Dan DiMicco are currently the top candidates.

Ross, 78, made his money under his private equity firm WL Ross & Co., who restructures failing companies, and is also an economic adviser to Trump. He is also under consideration for the Secretary of Treasury role, so should that role fall to him, McMahon will by default move up the list of potential candidates.

This is important times for the United States, and the McMahon family may have a vital role in the Trump presidency. McMahon is noted as a huge supporter of Donald Trump during his candidacy, and would be a good fit for the role. Do you agree with her being a prospective Secretary of Commerce? Or do you think this is a bad idea? Let us know in the comments!
