The injuries are piling up. To say that Jeff Hardy wrestles a pretty dangerous style is the understatement of the year. He’s wrestled like a daredevil for about twenty years now and at some point, that’s going to catch up with you. Hardy has a long history of injuries and that’s not changing whatsoever now that he’s in his 40s. The problem is that he seems to be having two injuries at once and it’s coming at a pretty big time in his career.

Hardy can still go, even when he’s not the healthiest.

Jeff Hardy vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: SmackDown LIVE, June 12, 2018

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hardy is currently dealing with both a nerve issue that is causing numbness in his fingers and a leg injury that he suffered during an entrance. Hardy is the current United States Champion and was scheduled to defend against Shinsuke Nakamura earlier this week, only to have Nakamura pulled from the match due to being bit by a police dog. Hardy only returned about two and a half months ago from a severe shoulder injury.

With Nakamura out, what did Hardy do this week instead? Check out our full SmackDown results right here.

Opinion: If Hardy is this banged up, and it certainly seems that he is, there’s little reason for him to not drop the title ASAP. With Nakamura on the shelf for an indefinite amount of time, there’s no reason to not move the title to someone else and let Nakamura take it from them. Hardy clearly needs rest and time to recover and it would make a lot of sense to get him out of the ring sooner rather than later, just for the sake of making sure this doesn’t get a lot worse.
