Something had to go. This Sunday’s “Summerslam 2017” card is absolutely stacked with twelve matches being announced to date. With only four hours of pay per view time, it was almost a guarantee that some of them had to be moved to the Kickoff Show, just to give the regular show some breathing room. That’s already the case as two matches have been moved from the main card.
According to 411mania.com, two matches have been added to the Kickoff Show. Both the Smackdown Tag Team Title match with the Usos challenging the New Day and the rematch for the Cruiserweight Title with Akira Tozawa defending against Neville will take place before the pay per view actually goes on the air. There is no word on if another match will be added to the Kickoff Show.
Neville vs. Akira Tozawa - WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Raw, Aug. 14, 2017
Opinion: This isn’t much of a surprise as neither match needs to be on the pay per view. They’ve both happened multiple times now and putting them on the Kickoff Show is a good idea. If nothing else it lets them have a little more time than they would have had otherwise. It worked for Neville vs. Austin Aries at “Wrestlemania XXXIII” and it’s going to work here too.
