That’s how you get rid of someone. Drew Galloway recently announced that he was leaving TNA due to some changes in his contract. While this is normally just a basic issue, it was a bit more complicated due to the fact that Galloway was the reigning TNA Grand Champion. Since he was leaving, this had to be remedied in a hurry, which was done on this week’s episode of “Impact Wrestling”.

Earlier tonight, Moose defeated Galloway to become the new Grand Champion. Moose’s win makes him the first ever two time champion in the title’s short history. Galloway lost the title on a split decision, marking the second time that the title has changed hands via split decision after Aron Rex became the inaugural champion at “Bound For Glory 2016”.

Opinion: This was TNA’s only option and it seems like they were planning ahead on Galloway’s impending departure. It makes things a lot easier to have Galloway drop the title without any kind of issue as he’s leaving, which keeps the title looking stronger. It’s certainly better than the Hardys leaving the promotion with the titles, which makes things all the messier.
