The exchange rate kills you. As you’ve likely heard about, the WWE will be holding a UK tournament in January 27 featuring sixteen names vying to become the first European Champion. Much like the Cruiserweight Classic, a bunch of names will be added to the roster to fill in the brackets. In a rare instance, we might have an idea of what their entry level salaries will be.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of 411mania.com, the one year contracts will be worth about £16,000 or about $19,650. There is no word on what will happen to these wrestlers once the tournament is over and if their salaries would increase if and or when they move up to the main roster. However, there is talk of a new UK TV show.

While it’s not exactly a fortune, the fact that these people will make it to something WWE related is going to change their lives forever, especially from a financial perspective. If you’re appearing on a WWE show, imagine how much more you can command for indy bookings. You might not be making John Cena levels of money but you’re certainly not going to be starving either and you’re going to be in much higher demand. That’s not too bad.
