Sounds like the door is closed. There are a handful of names that you will always see popping up every now and then in wrestling. Even if they have not wrestled or even been involved with wrestling for a long time, fans are going to flock to the name just in the hopes that things might change. CM Punk is on the top of that list and now there is another rumor about his future.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW has stated that they will never work with Punk after an interview he gave to ESPN back in July. In the interview, Punk said that he was given an offer from AEW via a text message instead of a formal discussion. AEW was disrespected by the interview, with Cody Rhodes saying that the comments were untrue. There is no word on Punk appearing anywhere in wrestling at the moment.
So there won’t be an AEW version of this. Check out one of Punk’s most famous moments:
Opinion: I don’t know if this is some swerve or not but at the moment, Punk to AEW does not seem like a possibility. That being said, there is always the chance that the two sides could make up. Of course there is always the chance that Punk has no interest in working anywhere and this story is just more talk about something that will never happen. Odds are it’s the latter, but you never can be sure with Punk.
What do you think Punk will do? What do you want him to do? Let us know in the comments below.
