It was fun while it lasted. There are a handful of wrestlers who get your attention no matter what they do. It might be wrestling a match, cutting a promo, appearing backstage or any number of similar things. What matters is that they get your attention and keep it as long as they want to. That has to end at some point though and in one wrestler’s case, something is changing.
On the most recent edition of the E&C Pod Of Awesomeness, Edge announced that he was quitting the show. Edge said that he was not able to do a show a week due to his family commitments, which include spending time with his wife Beth Phoenix, who is now doing weekly commentary for NXT. During the show, Christian said that he was not sure if he would be continuing to do the show on his own, with a new co-host, or at all.
It’s his second retirement, so this seems appropriate. Check out Edge’s first retirement speech:
Opinion: I’m sure this is what makes the best sense for Edge, though I can imagine his fans and the fans of the show aren’t the happiest. That being said, Edge is the kind of guy who has given us more than enough moments and memories over the years that it is hard to complain about him being gone. Hopefully he is happy in whatever he does, which is what matters most.
What is your favorite Edge moment? Who will replace him on the show? Let us know in the comments below.
