Normal and strange, all in one night. There’s something very fun about going to a wrestling show. You never know what you might see that you just don’t get the rest of the time. It might be a title change, it might be a great match, or it might be something that is quite the oddity, especially under the given circumstances. That was the case on Tuesday night in a rather oddball moment.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, there was a dark match both before and after this week’s SmackDown Live. Before the show went on the air, Heavy Machinery defeated the team of Anderson and Gallows. After the show was over, Roman Reigns fought Randy Orton to a no contest. Reigns hit Orton with a Superman Punch and spear but Orton left without taking a pin. Reigns’ music played as if he had won the match.

Just picture this, minus a few years. Check out Reigns vs. Orton from a while ago:

Opinion: What a weird way to end the post show dark match. Is there a reason to not take a fall in the show where only the live fans were watching? What’s the point in not having Orton, who can absorb a loss like few others, lose a match to the big SmackDown Live acquisition? Also, it’s Reigns, not some comedy wrestlers. Reigns has beaten Orton on the big stage before so it’s hardly a stretch. I don’t understand this one.

What do you think the deal is here? Do you think Orton refused to lose? Let us know in the comments below.
