That would have been bad. WWE presents a lot of different shows every year but a handful of them are bigger than others. The most important of these shows are pay per views but then there are a group of those that are even bigger than those. One of those took place over the weekend, but something almost went very badly for WWE, which could have caused a lot of problems.
According to PWInsider.com, there were some concerns during the main event of this weekend’s Survivor Series between Roman Reigns and Big E. The worry was that the show would run longer than its allotted time, as the show needed to be done by 11:35pm EST. The main event wound up starting after 11pm but did get off the air in time. Part of the concern was due to the men’s Survivor Series elimination match running long.
They had a lot to get through. Check out the two matches in question and how the show as a whole went down:
Opinion: What matters the most here is that everything wound up being ok. At the same time though, I’m really not sure what the point is in having the shows start at 8PM EST. Other than perhaps not wanting to deal with the afternoon slate of NFL games, it makes little sense to have the shows go on that late. It was rather nice to see the 7pm start time, but for some reason that does not seem to be an option any longer.
