The card keeps growing. We are coming up on Takeover: Portland as NXT returns to the big stage. This will be their first major, standalone event since Takeover: WarGames back in November and that means they have had the time to set up something special. As we came into this week, the show already had the traditional five match card, but things have changed again.

It is very rare that you see a series of matches that become must see TV. These come up every so often and when you know that you have one, it becomes some of the best stuff going at the time. What makes it special is when you get to see them do it all over again, only on a bigger stage. That is what we have now and it sounds great.

This week on NXT, it was announced that Dominick Dijakovic would challenge Keith Lee for the North American Title at Takeover: Portland on February 16. The match comes after a series of matches between the two that took place in the fall of 2019. Dijakovic was named #1 contender and defeated Killian Dain on this week’s show, followed by a staredown with Lee on the stage.

I’d say he’s ready. Check out Dijakovic vs. Dain:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that a lot of people have been waiting for a long time for now and now we’re getting to see it again, albeit for a championship. Lee and Dijakovic took their games to a new level with this feud and did a lot of stuff that should not have been possible for people their size. It became something I looked forward to seeing every time and now, they can do it on the big stage.
