He’s not done yet. To say it has been a hectic week in AEW would be an understatement. Between major backstage issues and all kinds of changes this week on Dynamite, there are only so many more things that can happen in a single week. There are still fans who need attention as well though, and that is what they received after this week’s edition of Dynamite ended.
The main event of this week’s edition of Dynamite saw Daniel Garcia defeat Wheeler Yuta to become the new Ring Of Honor Pure Champion in Garcia’s hometown of Buffalo, New York. According to PWInsider.com, following the show, Chris Jericho, who had appeared after the match, yelled that Garcia was a sports entertainer as the fans chanted “WRESTLER”. Garcia took the microphone and said that the wrestling is what the fans should be focusing on.
Opinion: It makes a lot of sense to have the hometown boy and one of the show’s up and coming stars address the fans to end the night. That is a nice way to make the fans feel like they are getting something special and AEW could certainly use some good vibes after everything that they have been going through. AEW needs to make things better and maybe pushing Garcia is a step in that direction.
What did you think of Garcia’s statement? How far can he go in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
