An extra wound. The biggest wrestling story of the last few weeks has been the backstage brawl that took place after AEW All Out. CM Punk and Ace Steel reportedly got in a major fight with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks with some others possibly being involved as well. There have been multiple stories and rumors to come out of the ordeal but now we have a new detail that could cause some long term issues.

One of the details of the story’s fallout has been Punk possibly being injured. In a new update to the story from Fightful Select, a source “close to” Punk said that a reported tricep injury took place during his All Out match and not during the fight. Punk could be seen checking his elbow multiple times during the match. There is no word on how badly Punk may be hurt, but he is said to have gone into the fight at less than 100%. Punk is not expected to be at this week’s Dynamite due to the altercation rather than the injury.

Opinion: It says a lot that the brand new World Champion, who is only two matches back from a months long injury hiatus, could be hurt again and it is nowhere near the biggest takeaway. This brawl is one of the most interesting stories that has ever taken place in AEW and one of the most intriguing in recent wrestling memory. The fallout from this could be a mixture of fascinating and lengthy and that is worth tracking.

What do you think of the situation? Will Punk wrestle for AEW again? Let us know in the comments below.
