The show is back. WWE has been around for a very long time now and that means they have presented a lot of different television shows over the years. Some of these are among the most well known wrestling shows in the world, but there are also a bunch of them that might not be so well remembered. WWE might be bringing back one of them and it could be rather special.

Back in 2003, WWE did something very cool when they went over to Afghanistan to put on a live event for the United States military. The show was presented as a special edition of SmackDown, held on Christmas night. It would become an annual event called Tribute To The Troops, though eventually the shows would stop being held overseas. Eventually the 2019 edition was not even broadcast on television. Now that might be changing.

According to PWInsider.com, there have been talks of bringing back Tribute to the Troops as a television show at some point near the end of the year. There is no word on when the show would be filmed or air, though it would likely be in December. The 2019 edition is the only version of the show to not be televised and has yet to be aired anywhere, including on the WWE Network.

The show has had its share of moments. Check out what we might be seeing again:

Opinion: It’s a nice idea and I wouldn’t mind having it back, but at the same time, it would be nice if WWE kept up some effort. There were a few shows that were just house shows with the Tribute to the Troops name slapped on and it didn’t feel special in the slightest. Take it to the troops or at least have a special set of some kind. You can make it feel like a big deal without going overseas. If that’s the case here, the show can feel important again.
