They need a backup plan. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way WWE works day to day and several of the changes can be seen right in front of your eyes. One of the biggest changes of them all has been the venues where the company runs its shows, as WWE has been confined to various locations in Orlando, Florida for several months now. That might be changing though and in a fairly big way.

After spending several months running television out of the Performance Center, WWE moved over to the Amway Center, dubbed the Thunder Dome, which was quite the upgrade in a variety of ways. Above all else, the new venue looked a lot better on television as there was suddenly a lot more space to get rid of the cramped feeling at the Performance Center. Now the space might get even bigger.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has to move out of the Thunder Dome in early December at the latest. The company is considering various new locations for their shows, including Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The stadium is the home of the Tampa Rays and will not be used for several months until baseball season begins again. In addition to the stadium, WWE is also considering venues in Florida, Texas and Illinois.

WWE has done pretty well in the Thunder Dome so far. Check out what they will be leaving:

Opinion: This is the kind of move that WWE was going to have to make and I’m curious to see where they are going to wind up. Above all else, WWE needs a steady home and a baseball stadium, while rather big, would make sense. At the same time, I’m sure the owners of the stadium would enjoy having some regular rent coming in to make up for some of the lost baseball revenue.

What do you think of the move? Where will WWE wind up? Let us know in the comments below.
