Take that Smackdown Live. Last week, Smackdown Live actually defeated Monday Night Raw in the TV ratings for the first time in a very, very long time. While a lot of that could be contributed to Monday Night Football featuring the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Detroit Lions, it was certainly a major change from the expected. However, things are starting to look a bit more normal this week.

According to Showbuzzdaily.com, Monday Night Raw’s ratings (1.09 in the 18-49 demographic, up 8% over last week) and viewers (3.047 million, up 9%) are both closer to normal. The interesting thing though is the third hour, which drew the lowest rating of the night (under three million viewers, as usual) but featured the return of Goldberg, which was the main draw of the show.

Smackdown was back down to normal numbers this week, drawing about 85% of Raw’s audience. Those are numbers are about average for the show post-draft.

This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world as Monday Night Football is such a ratings juggernaut that it’s unfair to compare the two shows when Smackdown Live doesn’t have to contend with it. It should be interesting to see what Smackdown Live can do going forward, especially with the way their shows have been building in such a logical and well put together fashion as of late.
