One more question about one more match? Back in 2010, Shawn Michaels retired from in-ring competition and, to the shock of most wrestling fans, he actually stayed out of the ring. It’s almost unheard of for wrestlers to not get back in the ring for at least one more match, but Michaels has managed to stay on the sideline, which is quite the accomplishment. That doesn’t mean people aren’t going to keep asking about it though, and that’s the case again today.

Michaels is going to be active again soon. Check out the details here.

In a new interview with Digital Spy, Michaels was asked about making a comeback for one more match. While saying a lot of the same things that he has said before, Michaels goes into a new direction, offering some of the specific reasons that he won’t be making such a comeback. Most of it is due to his age, but this time Michaels talks about the things that he doesn’t think he’d be able to do anymore. Here’s what Michaels had to say about why he won’t be getting back in the ring:

“Let’s just say I did it and the match was phenomenal, the reality now is this hairline is still what it is. You’re still gonna bust my chops because I’ve got no way not to expose to you that I’m 52. You want me to nip up and have everything look as if it was 1996 or ’97 and that’s never going to happen, because Father Time waits on no man.”

The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels - Streak vs. Career Match: WrestleMania XXVI

Opinion: I don’t want Michaels back in the ring. It’s been over eight years now, or nearly twice as long as his first miraculous comeback. He’s in his early 50s now and there’s a very low chance that he could catch lightning in a bottle all over again. If he has a match now, he would be dealing with the ONE MORE MATCH and YOU STILL GOT IT chants. Do you really want to risk what was basically a perfect retirement for the sake of one more match where you probably won’t live up to expectations? I wouldn’t think that’s worth the risk.
