That’s one way to go….I guess. We are a month away from the 2020 Royal Rumble and that means the fans are going to be looking forward to the big namesake matches on the card. However, there are a few other things that need to be covered on the show. That would include the World Title matches, including the WWE Championship held by Brock Lesnar. You might not have thought about him for a bit, but he needs to defend the title.

Lesnar is an interesting case at the moment as he had held one World Title or another for the better part of nearly three years. That is a very long time when he barely defends it a handful of times a year, meaning a lot of fans are wanting to see something fresh. You can only do that so well when he doesn’t defend the title all that often. WWE has to use the chances they have, and that is what they are going to be doing at the Royal Rumble.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current candidates to challenge Lesnar for the title at the Royal Rumble are Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins and Erick Rowan. Rollins defeated Lesnar for the Universal Title twice in 2019 but neither McIntyre or Rowan have ever faced Lesnar. Vince McMahon is said to be a supporter of Rowan and McIntyre has received a large push of his own. Rollins has spent a lot of time bragging about his two wins over Lesnar, with no response from Lesnar himself.

There’s a lot to cover here. Check out Lesnar’s interactions with McIntyre and Rollins, plus Rowan’s dominance:

Opinion: I get McIntyre and while I could tolerate another Rollins match but….Rowan? What has he done in recent weeks to deserve a spot like this? All he does is carry around a cage which seems to contain a small camera which eats candy canes. I’m not sure how that’s enough to warrant a World Title shot on a major show, but I’d hope they can come up with something better than that.

Who do you want to see get the title shot? Who will take the title from Lesnar? Let us know in the comments below.
