Keep it in the family. Wrestling has a long and detailed history and it makes sense that some family names keep popping up over and over again. Sometimes you’ll see a name that rings a bell and sometimes you’ll see a name that makes you wonder who else from the family is making their debut. One of those names that you probably remember might be popping up again soon.

Tag team wrestling has undergone a renaissance in recent years and that is certainly a good thing. Teams have started to pop up more often and several of them have been highly successful. With so many great teams today, it is beginning to look like the days of old when tag team wrestling was all the rage. There was a great team from Michigan about thirty years ago and now their family tradition might be continuing.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rick Steiner’s son Bronson has received a tryout with WWE. Bronson is a former football player who briefly played for the Baltimore Ravens but was cut before the start of the 2020 NFL season. There is no word on if WWE is interested in signing him. Before being cut, Bronson had mentioned that football was his main goal but he was willing to try wrestling if it was an option.

The family has a reputation. Check out Bronson’s father and uncle in action:

Opinion: I can’t blame WWE for taking a chance with Bronson. When you have that kind of a family connection and that kind of natural athletic ability, the worst that can happen is WWE gives him a tryout and nothing comes of it. Maybe he has the knack for wrestling and makes a career of it, but either way it’s worth a shot given the circumstances. If nothing else, any reason to watch more of the Steiner Brothers is a good thing.
