Walter Reaches Major Milestone As United Kingdom Champion

That’s a long time. Titles are what makes wrestling go around for the most part, as so many stories on a wrestling show are related to championships in one way or another. Wrestlers want to be the best and fight for the big championship belts throughout the show. That is how it has worked for a very long time now and one wrestler has been holding onto his title for quite awhile as well.

NXT UK has turned into quite an entertaining wrestling promotion. The show has gone from little more than a way to have extra content on the WWE Network to a rather solid weekly show. A lot of this has been due to the battles over the United Kingdom Championship, which has offered some of the best matches over the last few years. Now one of the top stars has reached quite the milestone.

The WWE UK Twitter account has announced that Walter has now held the United Kingdom Title for 600 days. This puts him less than three months away from surpassing Pete Dunne’s mark of 685 days as champion. Walter defeated Dunne to win the title at Takeover: Chicago in May 2017 to become the third ever champion. There is no word on when Walter will defend the title next.

Opinion: That’s quite the amazing accomplishment and you never know how long someone is going to hold a title when they win the thing. Walter has dominated the title scene and it is hard to imagine anyone actually taking the title from him at any point in the future. I’m not sure who is supposed to beat him for it, but Walter has been built up so well that a title change is going to be a huge moment.
