Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Possibly Main Eventing Hell in a Cell

For over ten years, the high point of women’s wrestling in America has been Trish Stratus vs. Lita on “Monday Night Raw”, December 6, 2004. That might be about to be blown out of the water. According to a new report from Diva-dirt.com, Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks for the Women’s Title is up for consideration for the main event of “Hell in a Cell 2016”.

This certainly isn’t out of the realm of possibility as the match is already guaranteed to be inside the Cell, meaning it’s one of three possible main event options. The other two choices would be Roman Reigns defending the United States Title against Rusev and Seth Rollins challenging Kevin Owens for the Universal Title.

If this happens, it would be the apex of women’s wrestling in this country and possibly worldwide. The idea of a women’s match main eventing a WWE pay per view would have been unimaginable only a few years ago but the new women’s division has not only seen a rise in quality but also in its position on the card. Banks vs. Charlotte has been the featured attraction more than once on “Monday Night Raw” and a pay per view main event isn’t the craziest idea. Oh and the show is in Banks’ hometown of Boston.
