RUMOR: WWE Unhappy With Braun Strowman’s Title Reign

Tick tock? Winning the World Title is a huge moment for any wrestler and should be something that marks the changing of the guard. That change might not last for very long, but any time on top is something that matters for a wrestler. Some reigns are just better than others though and one big time reign might be coming to an end sooner than you might think.

Back at WrestleMania 36, Braun Strowman finally broke through the glass ceiling to become the Universal Champion. This was long overdue and something that Strowman had been trying to achieve for a good many years now. Since winning the title, Strowman has feuded with the likes of Miz and John Morrison, plus Bray Wyatt. His title reign is less than three months old, and it might be time to start getting new nameplates ready.

According to Tom Colohue on the Dropkick DiSKussion podcast, there are some backstage in WWE who do not think Strowman is the right name to be leading SmackDown at the moment. However, there also are not very many people who could be taking his place. Strowman will face Wyatt in match in the swamp at Extreme Rules, though it is not clear if the title will be on the line.

Opinion: In a way I feel sorry for Strowman as Strowman was never supposed to be the champ in the first place and was really just keeping things warm until Roman Reigns returned. That’s quite the problem and the fact that it has come after such a long title chase for Strowman made it even worse. There was almost nothing he could do once he became champion and that has become very clear. It isn’t his fault, but it’s not easy to watch.
