Not the best move. Much like several other businesses, WWE is doing its best to try and fight off the spread of the Coronavirus. While they have brought in NXT wrestlers to help serve as a makeshift television audience, there is only so much that such a small group can do. It is better than nothing, but some of the wrestlers might not have helped out the cause all that much.
A ring entrance is one of the most important part of any wrestler’s presentation. There isn’t much to be gained by having someone just walk to the ring and go have their match. In modern wrestling, a wrestler needs something to make them stand out from the pack, which could be one of several things. WWE certainly has some great entrances at the moment, but one went a bit too far this time.
According to SportsKeeda’s Tom Colohue, the Street Profits’ entrance on this week’s Monday Night Raw was not planned, with the team going through the crowd and high fiving all of the fans in attendance. This has caused people backstage in WWE to not be pleased with the team, though there is no word on any punishment for them. The Profits are scheduled to defend their Tag Team Titles against the Viking Raiders next week on Monday Night Raw.
The match was a little different. Check out what happened next:
Opinion: This isn’t exactly surprising as going into the crowd and interacting in any way with that many people is exactly what social distancing is meant to prevent these days. I don’t think this is something that is going to destroy the team or get them in any serious trouble, but it is something that shouldn’t have happened, especially given how lax WWE has been with some of the possible ways to help keep people safe at their television tapings.
Was this a major problem? Will the Profits retain the titles? Let us know in the comments below.
