It’s not that easy. The WWE women’s divisions are on fire at the moment and a lot of that comes from the renewed strength of their titles. Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella are both great characters who make for some very strong segments. However, there’s more to wrestling than that and it might become a problem as we head into the all women’s Evolution pay per view.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE may consider taking the Women’s Titles off of Carmella and Alexa Bliss before the upcoming Evolution pay per view. The problem is that the two just don’t have good matches, which Meltzer says could be a “struggle” for the upcoming pay per view. Bliss is currently scheduled to defend the Raw Women’s Title against Ronda Rousey at Summerslam. The show, announced last night, will take place on October 28.
Here’s the big announcement, which actually is historic.
Opinion: With three months left to go before the show, there’s a very good chance that this is going to be correct. Bliss and Carmella are great characters but I don’t think there’s much to be said about their in-ring work. The matches are fine, but the two of them are certainly more character based that wrestling based. If the show was sooner you could have the titles changes there, though with the amount of legends it might be a little more interesting to have some dream matches.
Which of these two need to lose the title sooner? Who will take the titles away? Let us know in the comments below.
