It could help things. Celebrities have been part of wrestling forever and that has certainly been the case in WWE. WrestleMania was at least partially built on the amount of celebrity appearances at the event and WWE has used the same pattern for years. It makes a lot of sense to go this way, and it seems that the same sense will be applied this year at Summerslam.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, singer Cardi B. will be the guest host of this year’s Summerslam. There is no word on what Cardi B. will be doing at the show or if she will be performing. WWE has yet to confirm the announcement. This comes after Cardi B. had a Twitter exchange with Lacey Evans earlier this year, which led to speculation over a possible WrestleMania appearance which did not take place. Summerslam will be held on August 21 in a location to be announced next week.

There have been some nice guest hosts before. Check out some of their moments:
Opinion: This is certainly a different way to go and it might be a good idea. WWE can always benefit from appealing to fans outside of its own bubble and that seems to be their goal in this case. They already did well with Bad Bunny earlier this year so going with another musician makes sense. Hopefully it works out because Summerslam could use the extra boost.
What do you think of the choice? How will Cardi B. do in the role? Let us know in the comments below.
