So soon? We are still in the fallout stage after WrestleMania 36. With the biggest show of the year all wrapped up, it is time to start the new season in WWE and that can take some time to get going. WrestleMania 36 took place earlier this month and that means things have not really gotten started yet. However, WWE may already be looking at another big change.
One of the biggest stories from WrestleMania 36 was Braun Strowman dethroning Goldberg to become the Universal Champion. It was Strowman’s first World Title in WWE and marked a changing of the guard. The change also makes Strowman the new face of SmackDown and that brings new challenges to the show. The question is whether Strowman is the right fit and we might already know part of the answer.
According to Tom Colohue on the Dropkick DiSKussion podcast, WWE is considering having Strowman lose the title to Bray Wyatt at Money in the Bank on May 3. The problem is not in seeing Strowman as a draw but rather Strowman having no major opponents to face at the moment. The original plans for the summer had called for Wyatt to feud with Roman Reigns and WWE may consider switching the title back to Wyatt until Reigns is available again.
They do have a history together. Check out the history between Wyatt and Strowman:
Opinion: This is something that isn’t the biggest surprise as WWE certainly seems interested in seeing Wyatt vs. Reigns somewhere down the line. I’m not sure how much sense it makes the last two months make, but never let it be said that WWE won’t go the long way around to get where they want to. I could go for Strowman holding the title longer, but that may not be the case right now.
