It’s a pretty sad way to go. You never know when you might see someone’s last match in WWE. For three years, it looked like a random tag match on SmackDown Live was going to be the last in Daniel Bryan’s career. Sasha Banks seems to be done after WrestleMania 35, at least in WWE. As it turns out though, we might have seen the last match in the career of another future Hall of Famer.
According to Sean Ross Sapp’s Fightful Q&A by way of Sportskeeda.com, Sheamus’ in-ring career may have wrapped up after his WrestleMania match. Sheamus suffers from spinal stenosis and also has suffered a concussion. These two injuries combined with a variety of others have built up to the point where he might not be able to come back. WWE has not issued any statement on Sheamus’ status though he has only been mentioned in passing since WrestleMania.
The guy had a lot going for him. Check out some of Sheamus’ greatest hits:
Opinion: I’ve been a big Sheamus fan for a long time now and I really hope that he won’t be forced out of the ring due to his injuries. Sheamus has been around for about ten years but is forty one years old and has a lot of long term injuries that aren’t likely going to get much better. I’m hoping we get to see him again, but if he can’t get in the ring one more time, he certainly had a heck of a career.
What do you think of Sheamus? When will he be in the Hall of Fame? Let us know in the comments below.
