So long again? The wrestling world has changed a lot in the last year and a lot of that is due to the rise of AEW. The new major promotion now offers wrestlers another top level place for wrestlers to go outside of WWE. That is the kind of thing that wrestling fans and the wrestlers themselves have wanted for a long time now. Now, we might be seeing another major name making a jump.
One of the big stories on SmackDown at the moment is the return and redemption of Jeff Hardy. While missing nearly a year due to a knee injury, Hardy faced a variety of substance abuse and legal issues. This has been turned into a major storyline as Hardy feuds with Sheamus, with some fans not being exactly happy with what they are seeing. As it turns out, that feud might not have the longest shelf life.
According to Tom Colohue of SportsKeeda.com, Hardy’s loss to Sheamus at Backlash suggests that he will not be in WWE much longer. Hardy may not be signing a new deal with WWE and the loss to Sheamus may be setting up his exit from the company. It is not currently known when Hardy’s contract expires, but his brother Matt’s contract expired earlier this year, with Matt leaving for AEW. It is not clear what Jeff would be doing if or when he leaves WWE.

Opinion: I’m not sure what we are going to be seeing from Jeff, but it is clear that his career is probably not going to be lasting much longer. Whether than means he is AEW bound is not clear, but there is always the chance that he will be sticking around with WWE. There could be a lot of money and prestige in that last run with the company, though going to AEW with his brother could be too much to pass up.
