The battle continues. Over the last two and a half months, WWE and AEW have gone to battle every Wednesday night with NXT taking on Dynamite. While Dynamite has been more successful, it hasn’t been completely one sided dominance either. That makes things rather competitive and both sides are looking to get an edge. Now, they both seem to have the same idea.
This coming Wednesday, both shows are stacked. On Dynamite, Chris Jericho is facing off with Jungle Boy in a match that has been set up rather well over the last two weeks. In addition, the Tag Team Titles are on the line as the Young Bucks challenge So Cal Uncensored. Over on NXT, there is a pair of title matches with Rhea Ripley challenging Shayna Baszler for the Women’s Title and NXT Champion Adam Cole defending against Finn Balor. Those are some big cards, so what is the big idea?
On Monday, WWE announced that the NXT Title match will open the show and will be presented with no commercials. Later in the day, AEW announced that Hangman Page and Kenny Omega will team up to face the Lucha Bros to open this week’s Dynamite. This match will also be presented commercial free. Both shows have regularly included commercials in matches, but the majority of them include a picture in picture.
They like to even things out. Check out the announcement from both companies:
Kicking off #AEW Dynamite this Wednesday, it’s a dream tag team match as #TheLuchaBrothers face Kenny Omega & Hangman Adam Page, and as always – it will be commercial-free!

Opinion: This is one of those things that can be a little annoying but I can understand why it is done. Both matches are big deals, but it presents an issue for someone who likes to jump back and forth. Yes that is the point, though it can still make things that much more frustrating. It can also be a gamble, as either show could lose some of the viewers that jump to the other show during a break. This should be interesting though, and that’s what matters.
