That could be bad. Every now and then you see a wrestler who catches your attention like no other. Maybe it’s because of their wrestling skills, but at other times it’s because of what they look like. That is the kind of thing you can’t teach, and in some cases it is something you are not going to find anywhere else. That was the situation this week on Monday Night Raw, but it might be a bit of a problem.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Jordan Omogbehin debuted as AJ Styles’ new bodyguard. Omogbehin is a giant who has appeared in various roles for WWE over the last few months, including as Akira Tozawa’s giant ninja and the bouncer for Raw Underground. His first appearance saw him threaten Matt Riddle but not get physically involved. There might be a reason for that.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Omogbehin has only wrestled a handful of matches in NXT and has only been wrestling for a little over two years. Omogbehin is described as slow in the ring and someone who does not get the strongest reactions. There is no word on if WWE plans to have him wrestle at any point in the near future, either on his own or with Styles.
The look should get him somewhere. Check out Omogbehin’s debut and Styles’ comments on him from after the show:
Opinion: This is a situation where it doesn’t really matter what Omogbehin can do in the ring. He is so huge and physically imposing that all he has to do is look at someone or give them the most basic move and they can sell it like he’s broken them in half. It’s an easy idea and if WWE knows what they are doing with it, Omogbehin could be around for years without ever having to wrestle any kind of a serious match.
What do you think of Omogbehin? When will he wrestle? Let us know in the comments below.
