Thirty for two. On December 18, Stephanie McMahon announced the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble. This match had been hinted at for a long time but there was no guarantee of how the match was going to go. It was going to be a major undertaking and now that we’re less than a month away, we have a major detail.
This week on “Monday Night Raw”, General Manager Kurt Angle talked about the Women’s Royal Rumble a little bit more and addressed some details. Angle announced that there will be thirty participants in the match while also confirming that the winner will get a Women’s Title match at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”. There are around twenty active names on the roster (depending on what you consider an active wrestler), meaning around ten names would have to be brought in.
Here’s the big announcement:
Stephanie McMahon announces the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble Match: Raw, Dec. 18, 2017
Opinion: That certainly does answer a question but it also has me a little worried. With the limited women’s roster they have, some of the names to fill in the spots could be quite the stretch. NXT could help a lot but some of the “legends” are going to be a stretch at best and a disaster at worst.
Who do you think will fill in the lineup? Who do you want to see in the match? Let us know in the comments below.
