There are not many people who can say that they have returned to the WWE for a short stint and had a comeback as good and effective as Goldberg. Bookended by matches against Brock Lesnar, it all started when Goldberg was selected to be in the lineup of the WWE 2K17 video game as a playable character.

He then was interviewed regarding this announcement and hinted that he has some unfinished business with Brock Lesnar. This tease started to further materialize, especially when Paul Heyman called out Goldberg on the October 10, 2016 episode of Raw. A week later, Goldberg would made his triumphant return, and receive a deafening ovation.

While many were under the impression that Goldberg was going to be one-and-done, arguably the most shocking moment in 2016 occurred, as Goldberg defeated Lesnar in less than 90 seconds at Survivor Series. Goldberg would then defeat Kevin Owens at Fastlane leading up to WrestleMania to win the Universal Championship, before losing to Lesnar inside the Citrus Bowl in Orlando.

Goldberg was recently interviewed by Chris Van Vliet from WSVN-TV at Homeland for the Holidays in Miramar, FL. He discussed various topics, including his return, WrestleMania XX match, original return plans, and more.

The question was asked whether he could make another return to the WWE, in which Goldberg answered, “never say never.” Regarding who he would want to face if he returned, here is what he had to say.

“I mean, Reigns would have to be the guy. There’s no question about it. I mean, I like him and everything, [but] all the comparisons throughout the years. The Georgia Tech – Georgia thing eats me up. There’s no comparison between the two, and how people can compare us throughout the years, we’ve two completely different people.”

He also stated that, athletically, Ryback “doesn’t hold a candle” to him or Reigns, as well as what his original name was considered to be. You can view the full interview below.
