I guess the Cold War isn’t over yet. There are a lot of wrestlers under the WWE banner and as a result, not all of them are going to be happy all of the time. There are always going to be wrestlers who would rather be somewhere else or do something different and sometimes that becomes very apparent. At the same time, that means fans can be unhappy with things, and now we might have a situation where both of those are taking place at once.

Over the last several years, there have been very few wrestlers with as much support as Rusev, though that has not gone the way the fans would have liked. For one reason or another, Rusev has gotten more start and stop pushes than almost anyone and he has never broken through to the next level. Now that his long feud with Bobby Lashley and Lana is over though, things might be even worse.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rusev’s involvement in the upcoming gauntlet match at Super ShowDown is no indication that his contract issues with WWE have been resolved. Rusev is currently under contract with the company but is not appearing on Monday Night Raw due to unknown reasons. Rusev’s most recent match took place on the January 20 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Leave the memory alone. Check out Rusev in the ring earlier this year:

Opinion: For the life of me I don’t get this. How in the world do you not see what you have with Rusev? It’s not like he needs to be the World Champion or anything like that. Just let him be out there and showcase himself a bit. In other words, don’t put him in a feud with Lashley and Lana for months where he loses almost every time and then wonder why his momentum is down. WWE needs to try something different and having Rusev in a soap opera story didn’t seem to work.

What would you do with Rusev? When will he leave WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
