Wrestling can be a lot of things, but in many cases it is something that people use as an escape. While wrestling is a form of entertainment, it is something that fans can use to escape into when something is not going well. That is something which can make all of the difference in the world at times and that was the case earlier this week in a story that is as serious as it gets.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s Back: 47 Year Old Former WWE Superstar Making Return To The Ring
Earlier this week, a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl celebration parade left one person dead and 22 injured. According to ESPN, Chiefs’ lineman Trey Smith was carrying a WWE Championship as he and other people at the parade were put on a bus. Smith handed the belt to a crying child and talked about wrestling with him as they were waiting together. Smith said that the child was the champion and no one was going to hut him. The child was not among the injured in the shooting.
That’s a great story. Check out some happy moments in wrestling:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that does sound great though unfortunately it comes after a horrible event. At the very least, it was awesome that Smith thought on his feet and helped a child out when everything was going crazy around him. It is something that could have helped out in the short term and that is something that is going to make a lot of difference for the child involved.
