I’d call him worthy. We are coming up on WrestleMania 36 and that means a lot of things are taking place at once. That is the case with the show’s major matches but there is a lot more to the weekend than just the biggest show of the year. There are several other events taking place over the few days in Tampa and one of the biggest takes place Thursday night before the wrestling begins.
One of the most entertaining things that we get over WrestleMania weekend is the Hall of Fame ceremony. While the actual show itself can be hit or miss, the fun part is finding out who is going to be inducted into the year’s class. There are several names being added every single year and that means we could be in for some big surprises. The headliners are already named and now we have another major name set.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Smith was a member of the Hart Family and the entire family is expected to be in Tampa for the induction. Smith wrestled in the company in multiple stints, winning several titles, including two Tag Team Titles and the Intercontinental Title. It is not clear when WWE will announce his induction.
The Bulldog was a big deal in WWE. Check out some of his moments:
Opinion: Works for me. Bulldog was a big star in his time and it makes sense to have him go into the Hall of Fame. It’s interesting that this comes so soon after Smith’s son Davey Boy Smith Jr. made a cameo appearance on The Bump earlier this month. I’m glad Bulldog is getting back into the WWE fold as he was a strong performer for a long time and headlined one of the biggest shows of all time. He deserves a spot, if nothing else for his tag work alone.
