New Title Match Set For Clash Of Champions

There’s always room for more. We are on the way to Clash Of Champions and with less than a week to go before the show, WWE does not have much time left to set everything up. They have a lot of the show already set though and that should be enough to make for an interesting card. There is still room to add some more though and that was the case this week on Monday Night Raw.

The Raw Tag Team Titles have been a weak point for WWE for a long time. Ever since New Day’s historic reign ended, the titles have bounced around between several teams until the Street Profits won them back in February. They have held the titles ever since and have established themselves as the top team on Monday Night Raw. That means they have to defend them though, which will take place on Sunday.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Andrade and Angel Garza became the new #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Titles by defeating Dominik Mysterio/Humberto Carrillo and Seth Rollins/Murphy in a triple threat match. The two teams have been feuding for months, including a scheduled title match at WrestleMania 36, which was switched around due to an injury to Andrade.

Opinion: I’m not entirely thrilled by the match as it is something that we have seen several times before. That being said, at least it is a feud with some established champions, meaning that it will mean something when the Profits finally lose the titles. I’m not sure if that is the case on Sunday, but if Andrade and Garza don’t win the titles there, they don’t need any more title shots.
