Shorter is better than not at all. We talk a lot about alternatives in wrestling and that’s a lot harder to pull off than it sounds. One of the few actual alternatives is “Lucha Underground”, but unfortunately they’re not exactly the most popular promotion. There was a bit of a surprise a few weeks ago when Season four was announced and now we have some new details.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of 411mania.com, “Lucha Underground” is planning to film season four in February and March. The shows are likely to be taped on weekends with twenty one episodes taped for the season. This season will have a lower budget with one of the major changes being the loss of Rey Mysterio, who is now with Aro Lucha.

Here’s the trailer for Season 4.

Opinion: I’m very pleased with the way they’re setting this us. Above all else, they needed to cut down the amount of shows. Two of the three seasons have had about forty episodes and the other had twenty six. That’s just too many and they need to cut things down like this, which helps quite a bit. Hopefully they can wrap up some stories in case this is the final season but at least they’re still around.

Do you like the changes to this season? Will Mysterio be a major loss? Let us know in the comments below.
