That is a long time. Merchandise has been a thing in wrestling for decades and it makes all the sense in the world. Fans are going to get behind a wrestler or two and want something that looks like or endorses them. That is something that works in any field as well as wrestling, but it seems that now things have reached a level that they have never hit in history.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, current WWE merchandise sales have never been higher than at any point in the company’s history, including in the Attitude Era. This has mainly been due to Roman Reigns, though Cody Rhodes has also been doing well. There is no word on what metrics are being used to determine the sales being so high. WWE merchandise is now handled by Fanatics as part of an agreement that began last year.

Opinion: I know it’s not the same thing as the Attitude Era or even the Golden Era, but things are doing rather well right now. Granted one thing that helps a lot with modern merchandise sales is how easy it is to buy something. The Fanatics deal has been a game changer for WWE and hopefully they are able to keep this going. You do not see something like this very often and it is quite the sight to be hold. Well done WWE, as it seems to be going well.
