Roman Reigns Accomplishes Yet Another Milestone During His Championship Run

Acknowledge our Tribal Chief. Roman Reigns has been the Universal Champion since the Payback Premium Live Event in August 2020, when he defeated ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match. Throughout his run, the Tribal Chief has accomplished many milestones and can add another one to his list as of today.

Reigns has now been the Universal Champion for 1,042 days, which makes him the longest-running champion of the WrestleMania era. Although Hulk Hogan held the WWE Championship for 1,474 days, 1,041 days of that reign took place after WrestleMania I. This means that no one has held a title consecutively longer than Reigns since WrestleMania became a pop culture phenomenon in 1985.

The Head of the Table is currently the fourth-longest World Champion in the company’s history. Only Hogan, Bob Backlund, and Bruno Sammartino have held the title longer than Reigns.

What else can be said? Roman Reigns has been the top guy in professional wrestling for the better part of a decade and in my opinion has been the best wrestler in the world for just as long. No one can come close to him; the distance between him and second place is about 10 miles. In fact, I have him in my Top 10 of all time, with him moving further up the ranks every day. Furthermore, he is the architect and leader behind the greatest storyline of the 21st century. We must ALL acknowledge OUR Tribal Chief for many years to come! ACKNOWLEDGE HIM!!
