Back in July 2017, WWE presented the first and only Great Balls Of Fire event. During a recent edition of the Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy discussed the show’s name. According to Hardy, the consensus of the locker room was that the show’s name was decided by Vince McMahon, who was a fan of the Jerry Lee Lewis song of the same name. The event was headlined by Brock Lesnar retaining the WWE Universal Title over Samoa Joe.

The show was one of a kind. Check out what happened at the event:

Opinion: That is about as McMahon of an answer as I can imagine and it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. At the end of the day, WWE has to present quite a few events a year and this was certainly one of them, though that doesn’t mean it was the best idea. I could go for some more of the classic names being used, but this one did have quite the memorable name.

What do you think of the name? What shows should WWE bring back? Let us know in the comments below.
