It could be a bit. The World Title is the most important part of any wrestling promotion. It is the big shiny belt that tells the fans who the best wrestlers around are supposed to be. Having the title on the line automatically means something as you never know when you might see something important take place. However, it might be a long time before you get that feeling back again in WWE.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is not expected to defend his title again until Crown Jewel on November 5. In addition, Reigns is not expected to defend against either Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins, despite the two mentioning Reigns recently on Monday Night Raw. There is no word on who Reigns will be facing.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that has become the norm in WWE these days. Reigns is not going to be around full time and I’m not sure how often he is going to be around for the time being. That is certainly a way to keep the title reign going, though it doesn’t do much for the sake of giving the fans the big fight feel. Maybe that can change, but it is starting to look a bit less likely.
