I guess they’re worth it. There are a lot of things to criticize about WWE today and these criticisms are not hard to find. At the end of the day though, the company has figured out how to make so much money that it is almost impossible for them not to be profitable. That is the company’s ultimate goal, and there are certain people responsible for a lot of that success. Now we know a bit more about how they are compensated for their efforts.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE has filed several new financial disclosures which reveal the salaries of some of its top executives. Vince McMahon’s annual salary is $2 million and his target incentive bonus is 250% of that salary. He also has a stock units grant of $11 million. WWE President Nick Khan has a salary of $1.2 million, a target incentive bonus of 158% of his salary and a grant of performance stock of $3.75 million. Khan also has a sign on equity grant of $7.5 million.
Opinion: I’m not entirely sure what a lot of that means, but what is clear is that WWE makes a lot of money. You can certainly argue that McMahon and Khan are two of the biggest reasons for that success and it makes sense that they are so well paid as a result. WWE might not be at its creative peak at the moment, but it is certainly making a ridiculous amount of money and its bosses are being well paid as a result.
