Location, location, location. Earlier this week, WWE ran a pair of shows at Madison Square Garden. The venue was treated as one of the most important things on Monday Night Raw and it made things feel a lot more important. That can be true with any venue, and it turns out that AEW might have some unique ideas in mind to use their upcoming venues to enhance their shows.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW is planning on running some shows on location instead of in some arenas. These shows would be held in a similar fashion to some old WCW shows, which were held in places such as nightclubs and on the beach, among other places. There is no word on if these shows would be pay per views or regular weekly television shows.
Something like this could work well. Check out one of the WCW ideas that worked very well:
Opinion: Works for me. One of the worst things that can happen to a wrestling show is to have it get visually stale. There are so many shows that feel like they are in the same place every single time and it gets annoying over time. WCW was great about having different sets and different venues and it helped a lot. Of course you have to have the wrestling to make it work as well, but the surroundings can help.
What kind of venues would you like to see? How often should AEW do something like this? Let us know in the comments below.
