Let’s get it started. It’s the end of the year and in WWE that means something important: we are about a month away from the Royal Rumble as we kick off the Road to WrestleMania. The Royal Rumble is one of the most important matches WWE has all year and we could be in for an interesting one this time around. Now we even know how things are going to start.
Winning the Royal Rumble is quite the badge of honor as it only happens once a year (most of the time that is). A fairly strong group of wrestlers have won the match before but there are some rather prominent names who never did. The win can change someone’s career, either by kick starting it or bringing it back to life. We might be in for the latter this time around with a new announcement.
During this week’s SmackDown, Daniel Bryan announced himself as the first entrant into the 2021 men’s Royal Rumble. Bryan mentioned that winning the Royal Rumble was one of the few things that he has not accomplished during his career. This will be Bryan’s fourth appearance in the Royal Rumble match, after appearing in 2011, 2013 and 2015 but he has never made it to the final ten entrants.
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you need to hear because Bryan trying to make it to the end of the match being a focus would work just fine. Bryan is one of the few names who the fans still believe in and it would be easy to see him coming after the Universal Title at WrestleMania 37 in March. Hopefully things go well, because even if Bryan doesn’t win, he could still be one of the best stories in the Royal Rumble.
