So much for that. With Brock Lesnar as the Universal Champion, there’s only so much that can be done for the title. Lesnar is only around every now and then and that makes the title a bit harder to use as a major plot point. At the same time, there are several people with little to do because they don’t have a title to fight over. One such person is Finn Balor, but it seems like something is about to change.

Relive the brutal history between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe: Raw, July 3, 2017

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of 411mania.com, Balor vs. Lesnar for Lesnar’s Universal Title has been scrapped. At the moment, the plan has changed to Roman Reigns challenging Lesnar at “Summerslam 2017” and potentially winning, which would prevent Balor from being able to challenge Lesnar for the title.

Opinion: As much as I would love to see Demon Balor vs. Lesnar, I’d much rather have Reigns vs. Lesnar happen sooner rather than later. That has been set up as the main event of “Wrestlemania XXXIV” for months now and it made the rest of the year feel like a big waste of time. Getting rid of that feeling is a big upgrade and I’d be very pleased if that was the case.

Would you rather Lesnar vs. Reigns happen sooner or later? Who would you rather see Balor face instead of Lesnar? Let us know in the comments below.
